Finding Fun In My Crypto World
Cryptocurrencies—those arcane digital coins that once appeared as challenging financial problems. I used to associate them with price charts, market volatility and investment jargon. I actually found it boring though. However, what I didn’t know was that crypto had a more colorful and lively side than just finance.
The Boring World Of Crypto, So I thought
I began my journey in the cryptocurrency world like most people do: watching Bitcoin’s price fluctuations all night long by means of charts and candlesticks. It was like never-ending roller-coaster ride but not fun at all. Timing the market perfectly or FOMOing (fear of missing out), and constant financial news were exhausting me.
The Fun I Found!
When browsing through crypto forums, one post caught my eye – “Crypto Beyond Finance.” Out of curiosity, I clicked on it. And there it was–the game changer! Cryptos were more than money; they meant community which created creativity and adventures.

NFTs and Digital Art
NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) have brought a completely new dimension into play including digital art, collectibles and virtual real estate on the blockchain. I soon found myself in pixel art galleries, virtual museums, even creating my own NFTs. The joy of having something unique in digital history was amazing.

Crypto Gaming and Casinos
Online crypto casinos? Oh yes! It wasn’t for the money but for the thrill of it that I tried out crypto gambling. It was like poker game but one with a twist–my chips were digital tokens. And the best part? No need to walk over to the cashier’s desk; my wallet did this job instead of me.

Decentralized Social Media
Tired of centralized platforms? Social media networks built on top of blockchain became Peepeth or Mastodon. I didn’t see any ads or data mining here – just conversations. People who had privacy as a priority came together here–it felt good!

Crypto Meetups and Events
Virtually, geographical boundaries were dissolved via crypto meetups. I joined in on webinars, listened to voices of different speakers in the field and other fans too. Even on a computer screen, there was just so much energy in the air. And yes, I put on my favorite t-shirt with a cryptocurrency print.
